Frenel Ostin - Chief Master

Founder & President of One Taekwondo Academy
Executive Director of Fédération Haïtienne de Taekwondo

I was born and raised in a little town named Mòn Toro in the south side of Haiti. I am the youngest child out of seven.  I immigrated to the U.S. in May 16, 1994, leaving behind the overheated political realm in Haiti.  My dad’s decision to come to the United States was a blessing for all us in the family.  Here in the U.S. I got the opportunity to learn, educate, and continue to maximize my full potential.  I graduated from Portland State University with a Talent Management & Human Resource degree. I have also graduated from George Fox University from the MBA program.

While I was pursuing my undergrad at Portland State University, I owned and managed a very successful Taekwondo Dojang (school).  For my philanthropy works, I volunteer as President and Co-Founder of Association of Portland Haitian-American for Services and Education (APHASE) since 2005 to present.  APHASE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and celebrate the richness of the Haitian culture, to contribute to the socio-economic integration of Haitian-American living in Oregon and the neighboring states, and to support any initiative or cause focusing on helping the less fortunate.
